YEP is an employment program that teaches youth employment skills:
- Urban Agriculture
- Home Rehab and Construction
- Home Repair and Maintenance
YEP is a leadership development program that engages youth in learning the importance of:
- Money Management
- Anger/Stress Management
- Motivation and Self-determination
- Civic Responsibility and Volunteerism
- Social Interaction
Community enCompass, in partnership with Goodwill Industries and Muskegon County Department of Employment and Training, runs a program that trains McLaughlin Neighborhood youth in skills that will lead to future employment.
Community encompass believes that our neighborhood youth are key to the health and vibrancy of our community. Our youth matter! YEPs are divided into two groups: Summer Youth Program: 10-15 high school and college bound youth are hired for a 12 weeks through the summer to learn skills in lawn care; urban farming; child care.
Year-around Youth Training and Employment: Youth ages 18 to 21.
YEP is an organizing forum for youth to express themselves and their vision for change!
